It’s too early to judge it, as a few, relatively poor quality pictures can’t tell a design story.

Kinja'd!!!

But I feel that they’re trying too hard to be brash and macho.

Kinja'd!!!

It doesn’t look technologically advanced and contemporary enough.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s a huge step forward obviously, but I feel that they could’ve pushed the boundaries of design a little bit more.

Kinja'd!!!

And the interior is not flamboyant enough. Even the interior of the Renegade looks more alive.

“brash”, “macho” are not words I would associate with this design language. looks pretty soft and rounded with a lot of subtle design elements.

I think it’s pretty decent looking and thankfully avoids some of the weirder detailing on the Cherokee.

I’m just trying to figure out how Jeep’s lineup consists of the Wrangler and 4 different 5-seat crossovers.

I just think it will be very hard to see out of. The beltline is high (and rising towards the C- and D-pillars), the D-pillar is really thick, and the backlight is small.

I was thinking the same thing. The Regegade is small, th Cherokee Medium, and the Grand Cherokee Large. So they is th Compass even there at all. I thought the point of the Regegade was to replace the Compass, and the Patriot.

Then again this is the company that sold the Compass and Patriot two side by side, directly competed for attention, the only difference being one was square, and the other round.

This seems to be the same thing. Only now instead of square or round it’s the Cherokee’s old ball looks, or the Compass’s more conventional design.

Best I can tell, the Renegade is “mini” and the Compass is small.

Also there are still both a 2016 Compass and Patriot, the old shitty ones, on the Jeep website. Like I think someone could walk into a Jeep dealer and buy one right now, if they were stupid enough to entertain that idea.

When I was selling them back in 2014 I contemplated the idea of buying a barebones Patirot. With no keyless entry, and roll up windows, and a manual transmission. I kinda liked that Jeep actually sold something so simple.

I see the design of this being in the same vein as the Renegade. Its a caricature of the Wrangler, and this is a caricature of the Grand Cherokee.

I don’t see brash and macho at all. I think this is Jeep’s best design. (Renegade & Cherokee close behind). I don’t care for the interior in this, though. I can’t say I like the Renegade’s, but it’s at least a little more unique. This just looks like every other FCA interior.
